NAACP Goes To Court To Support NCLB

I just saw this. Connecticut is fighting NCLB in court, and the NAACP has just filed a motion to join with the Bush Administration in support of the law.

That certainly puts an unusual spin on things, politically.

I was a reporter in Connecticut for the Hartford Courant, and then the state was quite segregated. Minorities were concentrated in a couple of cities--Hartford, Bridgeport--and likely to be living in poverty. I'm told that the state has a gaping achievement gap between white and minority students.

Anyway, it's going to be interesting to watch this.
